Sony Ericsson K850

The beautiful Sony Ericsson K850i is a 3G camera phone which will amaze its user & all around hem. The K850i is a member of the Sony Ericsson K range which is a camera focused family which includes other highly capable camera phones including the popular Sony Ericsson K800i & the Sony Ericsson K810i. The Sony Ericsson K850i is an attractive handset which is compact to carry & hold. The phone comes with easy to use features & focuses highly on the camera & media capabilities. The phone is a solid bar type design which measures 102mm x 48mm x 17mm. The handset comes in a choice of two colours which are a luminous green or a velvet blue colour. The luminous green option provides the user with a mainly black coloured casing with highlights of green & the velvet blue option provides a mainly black & grey casing with highlights of bright blue. The K850i has been styled & designed to catch people's eye & it will certainly do that in looks alone. The phone has a large high colour screen which comes with a scratch proof protection & a high screen resolution. The 3G phone comes with 40 Mbytes of built in memory & the memory card be expanded using a memory stick micro M2 or a MicroSD memory card.

The K850i is a 3G phone which offers its user all the 3G capabilities that the user could desire including always on line broadband speed Internet access, 3G video calling & video or music streaming. The 3G HSDPA technology which is also known as 3.5G technology provides the user with super high data transfer speeds up to 384 Kbytes per second. The 3G technology also allows the user to enjoy multitasking on their handset which means the user can be on a call whilst downloading videos, music or games. The K850i comes with EDGE technology which allows the user to experience high speed data transfers which are up to three times faster than GPRS transfers. The user can connect to compatible devices using a USB cable connection or via Bluetooth® wireless technology. The wireless Bluetooth® connection allows the user to enjoy a tangle free connection between two Bluetooth® compatible devices which are up to ten metres apart.

The 3G technology allows the user to enjoy a high speed face to face video call which is the perfect way to chat to other compatible 3G phone contacts. The user can view a live video stream of their contact whilst the contact is viewing a live video stream of the user which provides a realist face to face experience. The K850i is a media focus 3G phone which allows the user to access their all their videos, music & photos with ease. The phone comes with easy to use video features which allow the user to enjoy recording, playing & streaming video on their handset. The Sony Ericsson K850i can stream music videos, movie trailers & much more. The user can capture video footage which is recorded with a smooth finish thanks to the video stabiliser which ensures all those small movements made by the user are not noticed.

Nokia N73 is said to be the most successful Nseries handset to date, with monstrous sales figures compared to the rest of the N-series lot. N82 comes to succeed it and become the most affordable of feature-loaded Nokia cameraphones. The Finns quote its price at 450 Euro pretax, which sounds reasonable, given the included features and the 2GB of memory card supplied in the package.

The almighty Nokia N95 should probably also feel threatened for the lack of the sweet Xenon flash and the auto UI rotation of its N82 sibling. We still believe though the extra 0.2-inch difference in the display size will also play a major role in choosing between these two devices.

Another potential rival is the Sony Ericsson K850 although being a non-OS device actually puts it in a different market niche. Still, it would be wise of cameraphone lovers to carefully consider both devices before purchasing their next handset. So, to them, and any other interested in the qualities of Nokia N82 for whatever reason, our review takes off after the jump.

Samsung officially presented two of its latest mobiles. The Samsung F490 is a full touch-based handset with a large TFT display, while the Samsung P720 will be the second dual-SIM handset by the South Korean manufacturer.

The Samsung F490 looks much like the Samsung F700 it's seated next on the press photo. It will have a slim profile, a 5 megapixel camera and haptic touch feedback. The 3.2-inch touch-sensitive TFT display has a resolution of 240 x 432 pixels. The Samsung F490 will appear in the beginning of 2008 and will cost around USD 600.

There are three touch-sensitive keys right under the display and the Samsung F490 is also equipped with 3G and HSDPA. With its 5 megapixel camera it pretty much resembles the LG KU990 Viewty. Unfortunately, the display doesn't seem to be capable of changing orientation to landscape mode like the Samsung F700.

The Samsung P720 is somewhat based on the Samsung Armani model, however it will offer DualSIM functionality. The handset will have a QVGA touch sensitive display and a 3 megapixel fixed focus camera - much the same as the original Samsung P520 Armani. The Samsung P720 will be targeted at the Eastern Europe and Asian markets.

The Samsung P720 may look like the Armani phone but as evident from these mobile-review.com shots the Samsung P720 is a lot thicker than the Armani. Those shots were taken as early as October, but obviously mobile-review.com was bound by a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Nevetheless they managed to slip these shot in their Samsung Armani review.
